Community Christmas success at The Foundry

It was a Community Christmas at The Foundry Shopping Centre, Scunthorpe in 2023. Teaming up with Scunthorpe Foodbank and The Trussell Trust, the shopping centre had two boxes installed where people could donate non-perishable food and toiletries for local people in need.

Through kind donations from the local community, a good trolley load of items was recently collected by the Scunthorpe Foodbank team, along with £275 of cash donations.

A huge thank you goes out to all those who got involved, either by giving or helping. It certainly added some sparkle to Christmas in Scunthorpe!

On announcing the total raised, Stephen Dacombe, Centre Manager at The Foundry Shopping Centre commented: “we are so grateful to the local support for our community initiative. The products donated and money raised will hopefully help the Scunthorpe Foodbank team and their recipients. As a team, we hope to be able to work with them again in the future.”

Tim Parker, Project Manager at Scunthorpe Foodbank added: “thank you to all those at The Foundry for making this appeal the success it has been. The display and donation area in-centre looked really good, and it is fantastic that the shopping centre were able to support our local work.”
